Live Training on ELK, Collectd, Prometheus, Grafana

As of now, there are literally 100s of tools that are being used for monitoring. Each having some different functions. However, today’s developers want to work more with open-source platforms or tools for more customizations & freedom. These open-source tools extend their functionalities without paying significant money.

Often, engineers use these monitoring tools along with other proprietary or open-source tools for effective outcomes. Considering its importance, we have organized this FREE live training revolving around some popular tools used for monitoring. It includes ELK Stack, Collectd, Prometheus, & Grafana! All of these tools are hugely popular and have a huge community of contributors & users from all over the world.

As they say, “Data is not helpful if you are drowning in it.” This is very true for a myriad of companies trying to leverage ELK to observe, measure, and analyze their log and event data. Considering this, Anubhav will begin with ELK Stack to solve all your queries regarding log management. Similar to the above problem, today, the complexity in the service-level domain has made traditional monitoring systems unreliable. To solve this issue, we have included Prometheus & Grafana. These are simple, but an effective solution to the problem. So, reserve your FREE SLOT today to get trained for all these tools on 27th September 2020.

Topics

Undoubtedly, ELK is the world’s most popular stack used for log management. It comprises ElasticSearch, Log Stash & Kibana. Although each one can be used separately, they work exceptionally well when used together. In this stack, ElasticSearch is the juggernaut solution for all data extraction problems. It is powerful, fast, scalable & allows a full-text search. Logstash is used as a log aggregator while Kibana is employed for visualizing the log data.

During this session, the instructor will first give you the basic introduction to each of these platforms & then he will start with the set-up. You will be trained to configure ELK in your local machines. You will also be introduced to 2 pipelines in ELK.

This will be the 2nd session of this live training & it will be dedicated to data processing and visualization. You will be able to analyze trends & patterns from the data in various graphical forms that otherwise could be extremely difficult.

This session will include data visualization from criminal records, http_access log, other microservices logs, Logstash configuration, sending information to ElasticSearch, defining a mapping template, using Kibana 4 & creating a dashboard with a map to get insights from the data.

Inspired by Google’s Borgmon, Prometheus is a monitoring-based open-source system that significantly helps in analyzing how your applications and infrastructure are performing. It really solves the developers’ problem of monitoring highly dynamic container environments.

This session will help you understand the Prometheus key features, its architecture, capabilities, and how you can leverage it. You will also get a demonstration of using Prometheus in a production-ready environment. It will give you insights into the integration of Prometheus with Kubernetes along with the implementation. In the end, a discussion on the theory of monitoring, data science & site reliability engineering is also included.

It will be the last session of this live training & is tailored for everyone who is looking to gain practical experience with Prometheus. You will be monitoring Docker & Containers via cAdvisor using Prometheus, writing Prometheus queries & configuring Prometheus exporters. You will also be using Grafana for various types of visualization. Before moving into the Q/A session, Anubhav will also tell you about Alerting via Prometheus. Once all these are finished, there will be an in-depth Q/A session wherein, you can discuss all your queries regarding any of these monitoring tools.
