I have always tried to live life presently and to the fullest. Some of the things I love to do in my spare time include mountain biking, nerding out on personal finance, traveling to new places, watching sports (huge baseball fan here!), and sharing meals with friends and family. Most days you can find me spending quality time with my lovely wife and our cat.

In 2011, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Production at Loyola Marymount University - one of the top 10 film schools in the country. While there, I was fortunate to make documentaries in Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, and India. After graduating, I worked at Participant Media shooting and editing short-form documentaries for their website TakePart. I followed that stint with a contract at Stanbridge College where I discovered online learning. I helped pioneer their online school there. Most recently, I spent 2 years working at University of California Berkeley with the media team. Throughout this time I built my Video School Online brand to teach others the skills that I have. In May of 2015, I left the 9-5 world to make my own path. Since then, I've made more money, worked fewer hours, and only have done the things I love each day.

As a young kid I'd listen to music with my headphones on full blast, imagining scenes and stories that fit together perfectly with all the sounds I was hearing. I then quickly found my life's passion, creating films that engage the visual and auditory senses in ways that move people.

Today this passion has lead me to do the same thing, on a much larger scale.

Through creating high end commercials with well-established clients, artists, and brands from around the world, I’ve discovered what make films great.

I found out that it doesn’t matter what budget you have, which software your editing on, or what equipment you own. What DOES matter are the underlying principles and techniques behind what you do that creates something amazing. 

Learning this on my own outside of “traditional” schooling, I truly wanted to create a space where others could benefit from the knowledge I'd gained. I created a youtube series designed to “help creative minded, turn their passion into a career.”

I am a self-taught multi-media designer and computer scientist who has helped bring the creative vision of clients all around the world to life. Having 8+ years of experience in the Adobe Production Suite has given me a strong tool-set to create anything from videos to websites. Along with this, having a degree in Computer Science has given me a strong analytical mind for dealing with complex problems. Through these two disciplines I create a unique blend of efficiency and creativity. I believe anyone can become a designer or programmer. All it takes is practice. 

I am also a world traveler and have lived in and learned from many different countries. During a 6 month stay in Japan, I became fascinated with their people's drive and craftsmanship. I try to incorporate that same level of energy, passion and detail-oriented work as much as possible in to my own life.

Being self-taught in many of my endeavors, I know how important it is to have high quality content. I learned most of my Adobe skills through countless hours of YouTube videos by the greats like FreddieW and Andrew Kramer. I decided to start giving back to the community that helped me so much, and created my YouTube Channel, AdobeMasters. Through this YouTube channel, I am able to create tutorials for anyone who wants to teach themselves these amazing products, just like I wanted to so many years ago.
