Keeping up with the trying technological times, Microsoft has introduced as brand new addition to its Server technology. Windows Server 2016 released in September 2016 emphasizes Microsoft's hybrid strategy, which includes a greater attention towards cloud technologies.
Windows Server 2016 also includes other Microsoft products including Office 365 and its desktop productivity apps, Dynamics 365, SQL Server and Azure's SQL Database service. The latest server offers numerous benefits over the last one including consistent identity management, DevOps processes in hybrid scenarios, security procedures and even built in support for containers.
In addition to offering enhanced security, the Windows Server 2016 comes equipped with new deployment features for Cloud, cost efficient storage systems and networking to automate with cloud-like efficiency.
Two major features that were added include: Rolling upgrades for Hyper-V and Storage & Nano Server. Hyper-V was originally offered with Windows 10 and allows developers to create and host complete virtualization systems. The new upgrade allows developers to add a new Windows Server 2016 node to a Hyper-V cluster with nodes that are still running Windows Server 2012 R2.
The Nano Server is a remotely administered server operating system that is small and has been optimized for private clouds and datacenters. It has no log-on capability and only supports 64-bit applications but simplifies the process of developing and hosting apps on the cloud.
Do you want to learn this next-gen Windows technology?
