According to AWS, CodePipeline is a continuous integration and continuous delivery service. It helps developers to automate the pipelines for a reliable and fast app and infrastructure updates. Every time, when there is a change in code, it automates the build, test & deployment phase of the release process as per the defined release model. This really helps significantly in delivering any feature or update reliably and at high speed.
In this part of the training, you will learn how to use AWS CodePipeline for creating a setup that will allow you to automatically test and promote infrastructure changes to production. Moreover, you will also learn how to integrate AWS CodePipeline with any 3rd party services like GitHub or with your own custom plugin.
Apart from CodePipeline, AWS provides numerous other tooling and infrastructure resources for DevOps practitioners. These include CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodeStar, ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation, OpsWorks, Config, CloudTrail, CodeCommit & others for different purposes. These help in building, testing, deployment, configuration management, monitoring, usage tracking, and other tasks.
During this section, Anuj will give you in-depth insights into certain important tools like AWS CloudFormation, OpsWorks & AWS Config. It will help you with resource provisioning, on-instance configuration, monitoring, and compliance.
